Oh Purple Heart

OH Purple Heart
 
                                                              Oh Purple Heart Upon my breast.
                                                              Covering the hole within my chest.
 
                                                              Where heart and love and soul did hide.
                                                               My love of country, my family, my bride.
 
                                                               Oh Purple Heart Upon my breast.
                                                               Like a Royal Guard  I did my best.
 
                                                               Laying down my sword by the riverside.
                                                               On the Lords Wings to heaven I ride.
 
                                                               Oh Purple Heart Upon my breast.
                                                               A badge of honor.  A badge at rest.....
 
                                                                     Purple Heart Day ~~ Aug.7th.

MY GRANDMA IS A LONGFELLOW AND I LOVE "THE PSALM OF LIFE" I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A PRESENT DAY VERSION OF IT . GLAD U LIKE MY POEM :) MY MICHAEL JACKSON POEM WAS PUT INTO A MEMORIAL POETRY BOOK WITH ALOT OF WORLD POETS LIKE JOSEPH SPENCE..IT IS GOING TO BE PRESENTED TO THE JACKSON FAMILY BY HIS FAN CLUB.
