Oh Merciful God

My Lord and God...
please be merciful to me.
This is my prayer and
my heart's plea.

In you, Oh Lord...
I put my faith and trust.
It's you, Oh God, who created
man from the dust.

I seek refuge in the
shadow of your wings.
There's a peace and healing
 this shadow brings!

I shall cry unto my God,
 who reigns on high.
Who fulfills his promises
 for you and I.

He will send from heaven
and save me from shame.
As I call out to him and
believe on his name.

Some have dug a pit...
waiting for me to fall in.
But they are trapped in
their deceit and sin.

In YOU, Oh God... my heart
is steadfast and true.
I will sing of your praise and
make melody to you!

I will give thanks to God...
 who is mighty and great.
By his grace and mercy,
I shall enter his gates.

Be exalted Oh God...
so glorious and divine!
You are truthful, faithful,
loving and kind!
