Oh Little Gnat

` Hovering like a gnat that finds a face irresistible Swatting frantically does no good as insects will be insects and annoying is part of their plan As it seems each day you find a new offering unfolding its wings, buzzing about with your dirty laundry in tow, as if poetry has become merely a tool to harass Finding little folders to slide into…highlighting each word of bin fodder, old but new hoping for accolades in lemonade fashion Funny how that works as hatred becomes the norm, never letting go of that scent that attracts you… whatever it is about the human aroma you find so pleasing Perhaps it is that it will never be you, oh little gnat of negative words seeking only attention, lost within the deep confines of a posers petals To ruin our summer fair, our poetic picnic in the sun cannot happen for you see we are happy in our own skin, with its wondrous fragrance…unlike you `
Don't you just hate little pests that just fly around annoying people?

For sure! Amazing how “the gnats” can cause havoc. There is a poet with heart (many in fact) — that is you :)

Good one Chris :) I have been trying to overcome my very marked prejudices over those in the insect world and I am sure gnats must feed some of my fave pond fishes and pretty frogs etc but they can be really bothersome! In the bug-ridden tropics, there's all kinds! A good fire smokes them out but I am quite sure there is a herb out there yet to be found that would be the perfectly safe repellent for such...now to find it and patent it!! hehe

Ha, let me know if you find that perfect repellent but make sure it works on big gnats too. : ) Thanks so much Susan, I appreciate you stopping by to inspect my insect problem. : )

Thanks so much Sandy. You would think the cold weather would make them go away but from what I have seen around here lately, that is not always the case. : )
