Oh, Gentle Dog

Oh! Gentle dog I want to know you Who has left you on the street? to starve, your bones jutting through skin Look at you Your beautiful eyes Does my soft voice say devotion to you? Did you once know comfort before you were thrown away? Please, come to me, trust my hand. Hear my heart breaking Let me be your new beginning. Your safety Your land of compassion. My promise of love found Take a chance on this night And I will whisper in your ears, softly Of food and care. Happy days of playful delight Amid your uncertainty, lean against my breast of new beginnings June 18, 2019 Move Me contest sponsor: Richard Lamoureux

This dog is blessed to be helped and saved. Very nice poem. I hope all goes well. I love animals and my pets mean the world to me :)

Take it from one who has lured a sad, scared, starving dog four blocks home to her by throwing pieces of hotdogs from three packages, that you are a kindred spirit to me. I have rescued 18 dogs.

Oh, Caren, 18 dogs...you are my hero. I'm still not sure this one will make it. But after 5 days she is looking so much better.
