Oh Dear, What Can the Matter Be
OH DEAR, WHAT CAN THE MATTER BE?
Oh dear, what can the matter be
My eyes have grown dim, I can hardly see
Not a word you spoke, was I able to hear
Even with a hearing aid stuck in my ear
On the way to the bathroom, I stumbled and fell
The bruise it caused is beginning to swell
The worldly events beginning to unfold
May cause some folks to fear for their soul
But for all the years I have been on this earth
I thank the Lord for giving me birth
And I know that one day I will be leaving
Friends and family will gather around grieving
Saying things like, "He's in a much better place"
"He seems to have died with a smile on his face"
But until that day has happened to me
I'll be saying, Oh dear, what can the matter be
