Off Spring, On Autumn

The sun shines today as the leaves from the trees lose their homes
A wind comes from the north east and takes each one on its flight
It is as if each branch waves a goodbye, to its offspring, with love
Knowing that the following year new children will grow and flourish
Along with the fleeing leaves comes the hope of even new roots
As they can get taken to awaiting fields and hills of other worlds
Where there they can grow and become one of the tallest trees
Extending their branches for new growth and they eventually wave
A goodbye to their many offspring, knowing spring will bring renewal
