Of Rides and Life

She gets on the ride
Highs and lows
She turns and tosses
Laughing into the air
Sometimes second-guessing
Sometimes sure of her hold
A couple stops at black holes of darkness
A few sharp turns and she nearly falls
But when she sits back letting the wind
Caress her hair, gently breaking the speed
The hum of joy in the wheels
The drone of fears
The sharp slopes of reality
Some slow climbs into fantasy
Piercing the clouds
She knows deep down inside
She wished it never stopped
For if life could go on....
