Of Mother

For Mothers

In the break of dawn you rise to greet
The first streak of sunlight rising from mountain crest
Your silhouette roams the four corners of your domain
With rolled up sleeves ready for the day

Each day your sweat brings comfort and peace
As you work while children are asleep
As they wake up smile painted on their cheeks
For a warm welcome and early morning feast

Warm embrace and encouraging words
Of wisdom and patience, unyielding virtues
Reminders enfolding young minds in troupe
While treading a road with wisdom they go

For once I stop, take off my hat
Sublime, unconditional, divine creation
Amidst the turbulence besetting this world,
Deserving admiration, and love most of all.

A perfect tribute to Mothers, Maria! You should submit this as an entry to "The Perfect Woman" contest. I'm sure that it will do well. I love it! I always say "God works along with Mothers every day"....Always, Annalise
