Of Glass Dividing Souls

alone in cold dark metal
very little air to breathe
frozen in a place and time

days are lost in anticipation
waiting again and again
and then it happens to my surprise

your fingers touch the chain
delicate links that bound our hearts
I am now held in your hand

your thumb outlines our locket
the locket tucked inside a box
pink tissue paper blankets me

pictures behind glass dividing our souls
you touch your lips with a kiss
then caress my face with your finger
