OF DIVERSITY AND UNITY:
(A PERSPECTIVE FROM ME TO YOU)
Thus are your twisted, unwise thoughts:
Because you are you, and I am truly me,
You live and think that between us
There will never be any unity:-
And that between the likes of us,
There is, and will always be, diversity:-
For you, because God made you
Different from the sage beauty of me,
In this one world in which we’ve come to be,
There is no way He intended us to be one:-
Thus, you say no to sisters-to-sisters
And likewise, to brothers-to-brothers;
Despite, they may be of the same,
Or even of a difference in color:-
With Garden of Eden snake-like derision,
You seek to skew profound scriptural wisdom,
And the simplicity of God’s profundity
Of our graceful diversity and its unity:-
Yet, when we look into the mirror,
We see a single body with many parts:-
Each sharing equanimity in a oneness
Of the human race in the onement of
God’s divine spiritual wonderfulness:-
Finally, it must also be understood,
That in any human relationship,
As is in the relationship of
Body, spirit, and soul–
In the circle of love–
We must all be in a circumference
Of onement in the radius of life:-
It’s in an awareness
Of congruent unity,
That we must seek
A triangle eclipse,
Reflecting the trinity
Of divine grace given
To our diversity from above:
Diverse planets make up this one world;
Likewise, must be the onderful oneness of us,
Engaged in building the onement of a world of love:-
Thus, when it comes to you, me, and equity, remember this:
God's guidance is that we should build a nation rooted in justice
