of daybreak's dreams

After the sun sets Before the moon peeks Coldly over frosted ponds Daylight hovers behind the curtain Enjoying a cup of darkness Flirting with the shadows Gliding easily across the stage Hungering for its moment Irrepressible in its need Jabbering about night’s ego Kidding with old stars Longing for the comeback of Memory’s yellowed edges Nighttime’s thieves pilfering The vibrant vistas Of daybreak’s dreams
