Of a Sudden a Man Saves Himself
A man of sorrow
sees the end of his rope,
yet this day
there is a terrible joy
woven into the ropes fabric.
His awakening mind
soaks up
a dark lake of history,
shreds its memory
then burns all up
in one bright flame.
The man smiles;
shoulders back,
then takes that one path
he had once chosen
not to follow.
