O'Er Yon Mountain
This poem has been turned into a song on You Tube. Just type in the title and enjoy.
O’er Yon Mountain
O’er yon mountain where the wind blows strong,
Do I here a lark singing his song?
Or could he be calling to his mate,
Saying “Come sit with me on the garden gate”.
O’er yon mountain where the sun shines bright,
The flowers are growing to the bee’s delight.
The bee gathers the nectar to survive,
He will fly it faraway to his honey hive.
O’er yon mountain where the grass is green,
Any morning a doe can be seen.
Her fawn are also eating near by,
She watches and listens closely to a coyote cry.
O’er yon mountain where the trees grow tall,
Where the snow can reach you chin in early fall.
Where the smoke from the cabin can be seen far away,
Where the aroma of good food, can reach clear into the next day.
O’er yon mountain where the sun will set,
A stranger o’er there I’ve never met.
If there’s a quiet place you want to be,
Then come on o’er yon mountain and sit with me.
