Ode To the Wind In the Trees

The wind blowing harshly on the trees
Swirling them around
Like green paint on a canvas
The sound
Is equal to that of drums
Like cymbals
A shimmer of noise
Echoing and fading out
It smells like summer
The aroma of vacation and relaxation
The breeze on your skin
The coolness
When you finally know what the trees are feeling
The rare and overlooked moment
When you can relate to them
The taste of a breath of fresh air
Is one that should be cherished forevermore
You didn't know that you couldn't breathe before
Until you finally inhaled
The sweet taste of the wind

Oh, your poem is so beautiful, Lily. I love the wind in the trees; 'a shimmer of noise' and I especially love your last three lines for a superb finale. Congratulations on your wonderful placement in Brian's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Wonderful! I can feel the freshness of the air thru the wind that blows on me, while enjoying the trees surrounds me.
