Ode To the Lighthouse

Wollongong Lighthouse how you stand, Above seaside, windblown and stony; Like a rocket ship on the edge of land, Poised for take-off with full ceremony. Skyward, you point, watch and aspire, Always ready, but never mote moving, Do you wait for hydrogen engine fire; Gravity annulling forces improving? Wollongong Lighthouse how you stand, Above seaside, windblown and stony; Like a rocket ship on the edge of land, Poised for take-off with full ceremony. Oh, Wollongong Lighthouse forever stand: Poised like a rocket ship on the edge of land. 21/12/2018 For Lighthouse Poetry Contest by Eve Roper

This is very pretty with wonderful rhyme and flow. I can't remember if that contest has placed yet, but surely this is or was a winner. Nice writing. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
