Ode To Janis Joplin

All is Loneliness Song title that tells the truth About your life, Janis Born in Texas, You seemed more at home in San Francisco Or Portland with your rock and your blues Your mezzo soprano vocals Lit up the stage You were electric! Full Tilt Boogie Band Kozmic Blues and Big Brother Would have failed without you Cheap thrills Pieces of My Heart And Ball and Chain would have never made it You were here a mere twenty-seven years But what a legacy! You brought us the blues in a big way! Cheap thrills Song title that reflects your Heroin overdose death, Janis

Well, on one hand, JJ was an electric performer. On the other hand, she electrocuted herself, so to speak. Tragic, really. :) gw

It is tragic; at age twenty-seven, they are just babies.

so sad that her life ended so young...so many have suffered this same fate, famous or not, young and old... past and present... it's a shame, good write! hugs

I get the impression you are young and ''with it'' your poetry echoes you if so. I must admit I like poetry to rhyme, , but yours is humerusLOL

Certainly one of the greats Caren, another victim to that scourge of mankind, drugs. Tom
