Ode To Friendship
Every friend should really be
just a little more like me
I who always pass the test
for sympathy of those depressed
Like a balm so cool and sweet
but I work best with the elite
smiling at the passersby
waving gently,suave am I
If I'm seen at Marde Gras
the Riviera or the Spa
ask me for my autograph
(or better yet, just see my staff)
I'm always there to help you dear
except at certain times of year
like holidays or early May
and in the summer I'm away
But if you're looking for a loan
be sure to call me on the phone
I'll send the number in the mail
when I get back from Macy's sale
You're looking well, for old times sake
the greatest friendships always take
looking after like a garden
excuse me dear,I beg your pardon
but you are blocking all the sun
I simply must get this tan done
if you will write it in a note
I'll read it later on the boat
and do include your address dear
and tell me everything you hear
I'll send a card fromZanzibar
to show you what a friend you are.
