Ode To Emails

Weather?
What you ate?
Is this really my Internet fate?

Emotions!
What you feel!
Are feelings and emotions
out of date?

Abbreviations.
Is English dead?
Are we all so busy people unable
to use their heads?

Responses.
Let people hang?
Deaf to emails and texts.
Ignored, as if we were already dead.

You describe internet communication to perfection, our English language has been re-written and re-expressed for lazy easy communication which sometimes (communication that is) doesn't even exist , just words without thought or meaning. Well penned my friend. Hugs, Jennifer. Hugs, Jennifer.

Jenn! You said it better than I did. It is as dire as you said..."words without thoughts." worse, no feelings. Just being cute, add emoticons to replace phrases. The Soup keeps me sane. Thank you for the nice comments. Good week to you. Panagiota

I love my emails more than FB, panagiota. Did you get mine several days ago? I worry you didn't see it. I am taking off tonight and want you to know why I have not been seeing your poetry or anybody else's lately. Just so darn busy . I love the message of your poem here and I agree with you very much

Yes, and I replied to it! Your emails are fascinating and bear no resemblance to those boring ones I get. I asked if you wanted a photo of my cat! Hats boring and officious emails. Onne needs time off From the site. RSVP later Panagiota

I used to look at my emails, but thanks to social media filling it up, I rarely do any more. Nice one, that surely shows us a "sign of the times" and we are there!

Oh, ok. To each his own. I don't get junk mail. It's rare. Most people like you, on social media. Good for you. I am one who won't do things because everyone else is. I prefer my inner compass. Hope I make sense. Panagiota xoxo
