Ode To Delight
(Dedication: For Ann, the love of my life.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By morning light things feel less tight:
There is a certain way,
Measure for measure plays;
Do not be afraid of delight:
It comes and goes away,
Yet joy must ever stay;
Go forth with courage that feels right:
Let peace flood happy day,
Fond cheer recite fine stray.
By sparkling light that dawn reveals:
Let magic moments sing,
Finesse and harmony;
Let focus concentrate appeal:
As mystic magic flings
Calm synchronicity;
Go on your way to wheel and deal:
Live what you love to bring
To your humanity.
By dusk's last light, let cheer find rest:
Let weary body sleep,
Perchance to dream once more;
Then journey far beyond in quest:
To greet the souls most deep
In visions that keep score;
Aware of pun and wit and jest:
When day awakes to sip
New stirrings from the core!
And when you look around, do see:
Happenings meant to be
In colours sparkling bright;
Love what you live, and be:
A wholesome soul set free
To dance within the light;
To live with grace surely, truly:
In lovely purity,
For all eternity!
