Ode To Books

Books are amazing,
Books can be bamboozling.

Books are cute to the astute, 
Books can be the he saviour of the destitute, 

Books are educational,
Books can be quite fictional.

Books are gorgeous.,
Books can even be hilarious.

Books are something to invest in,
Books can be just in.

Books are worth keeping,
Books can help in our learning.

Books are yours and mine,
Books can be more than nine.

Books are open to interpretation,
Books can pay for your education.

Books are quite worthwhile,
Books can really be in style.

Books are there for you,
Books can use a good clean from you.

Book are available in various sizes,
Books can wear at different rates.

Books are sometimes marked with an X,
Books can show you a quick fix.

Books are able to guide you from A to Z.

Can't see current E-readers around in couple of hundred years. The feel and smell of a good book can not be beaten. Can't imagine using an e -book to read stories to children. The bad news is we won't live long enough to read every book, have a coffee in every cafe etc etc. Still it makes each book that much more special. Take care David.

Karam Misra Date: 7/8/2016 6:37:00 AM I am a bibiliophile and had a good collection of them till the termites got hold of them in a very sneaky way (please visit my poem "Termite Jill" on the subject, if you have the inclination.. Books have a long shelf life. We were promised that Cd's would last a 100 years. Even if that were true I have books that are still older and the contents are guaranteed original.
