Notes About The Poem

ODE TO A PAPERCLIP

O paperclip! O slender silver sprite,
you zigzag champion of the office drawer,
you wiry wizard bending just-so tight,
a tiny titan keeping peace and order.

O paperclip! You tame my papers with a single twist,
no pomp, no glue, no complicated schemes.
You simply clasp—click—and coexist
with chaos, coffee stains, and half-baked dreams.

O paperclip, O modest loop of metal, brave and small,
you hold my life together
far better than I do at times~
and never charge a fee at all.

For some reason I caught myself thinking of “O Christmas Tree” when I read this lol. This brings back memories of when we actually used school supplies.

THIS is a FAVE. Never heard a paperclip praised better, and probably never will. Bravo, Sara!

Useful things are paper clips. Help yourself avoid shame when a zip breaks, etc. I really liked the laughter.

Paper clips are versatile. Save embarrassment when a zip fails, etcetera. Really enjoyed the humor.
