Ode to a Dove
Calm and peaceful,
Beautiful and lovely,
It finds a place for its feet,
It comes to my abode.
It takes gentle strides,
Oblivious of my presence,
I watch in awe and admiration,
Nature’s gift has come my way.
I take steps to move closer,
It flies away,
Probably gone to be with its kind,
Or lost in the tide of the evening.
An epitome of tranquillity,
You teach us to find hope in gloomy places,
You show the Father’s crucible of care,
You’re the timeless nurtured.
