Odd
O Moon-goddess, I am happy
Full with desire, exhausted
After a long night of making love;
I watched the night from Aphrodite’s temple,
So did she as she kept watching,
Wondering how good to feel
Inside her heart the running
Drops of two lovers before she was
Able to see them dying along the lake.
Apollo and Poseidon, blazing
Through my eyes that one has become
The most fragrant and delicate dreamer;
I smiled at you, o Hera! Previously your appeal
Purified my body with just delight;
And now before them, the seldom
From which I gave all that it faded.
