Octopus
Octopus
Ink flows from the pen when sorrow grips hold
squeezes through tight places of suffering
Ejected dejected the fountain squirts Kraken’s
wisdom mimics camouflages inner power with
tantamount tentacles waits to fuse and defuse
Four pairs of arms guarding noble truths
of impermanent suffering scripted on paper
Freedom arrives when attachment ceases
thus when I attempted to touch the octopus
submerged under water a solution ensued
Too close I tried to retain the moment in what
only floats in the flow of fleeting consciousness
An eightfold path awaits once sentient beings
are respected unharmed and when wove paper
nib and the scribe mercifully merge into one
