October's Midnight Rain

Doubt the very stars above you
Shine behind the clouds’ disdain
But never doubt that I still love you
Like October’s midnight rain

For somewhere in the silent street
Two souls compose a refrain
Where the poet and her lover meet
In October’s midnight rain.
