October Musings

Gazing out my window Slate-gray day, wind whipping Leaves uprooted, skittering along October surely gone wrong Saw rain slant across the lawn Threatening skies all around A day to stay inside the house I trembled like a frightened mouse... A knock at the door froze me but good Perhaps a ghost from nearby woods I opened my door a tiny crack -- anyone there? 'Twas an anxiety attack that had me scared Opened the door a little bit more A pleasant surprise for me in store The wind was warm, the weather pleasing Sweet October's return ~ my panic now easing ~ Musings on an October night where the weather's changing ~

You do realize that you probably let the ghost slip in, right? Not that I want to frighten you, but you might want to be aware.

Chicago's autumn is caprious at best - one day heat, the next day snow! How well you have captured her fickle, yet beautiful, nature. And, the preserves can look very spooky! Glad "October's return" was "sweet." Leaf it to you!

Nice! I enjoyed being outside today. We brought the grandsons to a corn maze and wagon ride...first time for all of us!

Sounds fun, Kim. Of course, the weather should stay better longer, down Atlanta way! Enjoy! ~ Gershon

I love the warm weather. Even though snow is beautiful, I'm dreading winter a little. An excellent write, Gershon. :) ~Angie

Thank you so much for your kind words, Angie,... and I'm with you on winter. That snow is beautiful stuff, but somehow I see just she 'shovels' once it's fallen. Smiles, Gershon
