October
Spry scenes bid farewell to the fall.
From far, there's winter's callous call.
Dry leaves float like gold butterflies.
Thrill fills the rainbow-painted skies.
A divine calm is spread around.
In nature, there's a salsa sound.
Like wedding choirs, are the birds' cries
Thrill fills the rainbow-painted skies.
Changing moods of the scenes are seen.
Earth is graced with emerald-green
Are the sun and moon in guile guise?
Thrill fills the rainbow-painted skies.
With the blow of the breeze, reeds sway.
Are these bright clouds gathered to pray?
The moon slowly changes its size.
Thrill fills the rainbow-painted skies.
Are these swift, sassy cherubims?
What, in this weather, are their whims?
Creatures seem free of earthly ties.
Thrill fills the rainbow-painted skies
