Ocean

The waves are crashing on the beach
They look as though their trying to reach
Reach what? You say, you want to know
You would have to watch the surf move to and fro

The sound it makes can be a mighty roar
Or as softly as gentle laps on the shore
Diamonds touching the water from the sun
Pearls float on the water when day is done

Surfers, swimmers, floaters too
The ocean so big lots you can do
Take your boat out and catch a fish
Bring it home fix it as you wish

The ocean changes every day
The moon will help it guide the way
Waves can be huge or flat like a lake
Never take if for granted for goodness sake

My drive to and from work is past the coast and up to a bay - it changes every single journey. The power of the sea is awesome as we have seen by the recent storms here on the Island but the raging sea is just as beautiful as when its flat calm. Love this poem makes me appreciate my surroundings even more Jan x
