Obstacles To Love

Thorns beneath my naked feet,
are tearing at my heels.

I'm walking off across your lies,
and this is how it feels.

Black tar poured out on the road,
leading to your heart,

My love becomes a heavy load,
to lift when we're apart.

  These obstacles you choose
to place,
between my soul and yours,

just make me yearn to see
your face,
the more my heart endures.
