Obsession of Drift Wood

The blue hills rolled down the verdant slopes in rhythmic swings on tinged topography cradling the charm of the humming hamlet that lodged once my home happy. With the slant shadow of the cotton clouds climbing the heights of the cerulean sky my teenage joy soared above the horizon high with the colorful kites I loved to fly. The sparkling stream with curling pearls flowed in flamboyant grandeur girdling our house in embracing loops with garlands of picturesque meanders. My rainbow painted paper boats followed the cascading current’s rippling trail on them I saw to distant dreamland destination my youthful fantasy sail. The surging storm swept across my landscape the boats sank, the kites flew away snapped and I turned into a wandering drift wood in faded youth I search for them obsessed. ____________ March 28, 2021 Contest : My Obsession Sponsor : Regina McIngtosh
