Obsession

You have so much time for me, always within my view.
I'm the first one you gaze upon when you start the day anew.
I have a special sound I make when I think that you ignore,
Then you turn attention back to me with my simple, small implore.

You take me everywhere you go, you will not leave me out,
And if I think you've forgotten me I give a little shout.
No matter what the time of day or who your being with,
I know you will always have, for me, much more time to give.

Some people think I'm selfish and sometimes quite abrupt,
but I don't care what they think, if I want you I simply interrupt.
If you don't answer when I call I leave a message or two,
I'm sure you will turn attention to me before the hour is through.

I introduce you to family, friends and people you don't know,
some of these relationships quite spurious that will never grow.
I let you follow things they do and places that they've been,
You will mostly be on the outside looking in, part of the unseen.

The master manipulator that I am, my job is never done,
don't be fooled to think that I am yours, you're not the only one.
I'm always seeking other relationships, more people for me to own,
after all it is my job, I'm your mobile phone

He is Kim, I am undecided who I like more Lawson or Banjo Patterson. Both great Australian bush poets.

'...the master manipulator' indeed! Technology run rampant... we have become slaves to these gadgets 'til we are lost without them. a shame... Keith
