Obsession
The touch
the feel
the taste of you
lingers on my soul.
You quietly touch the corner of my eye;
clouding my perceptions with your constant presence.
I no longer view life with my natural sight;
every vision is tainted by your flavor washing over me.
I gained of myself in your echo;
Yet now I am clouded
cloaked in an unknowing.
Will I lose the layer of love that we uncovered together?
Will the lack of you reduce me
to less than what I was before we met?
I now move toward the shadowed spaces of the forest,
Unknowing
Unprepared
Can I let go of you, and still retain the me I found within your eyes?
Can the seeds we planted, blossom in an arid heart?
Will the loss of you, be the deepening of me?
Can I imbue this newly created void
through my life's movements;
unfolding the pages of my destiny?
