Observing the Moon In Daylight

Listen to poem:
Observing the Moon in Daylight David J Walker Is it stealing a bit of the spotlight or Borrowing stray sun rays in the afternoon The 4th quarter moon quietly treks a Girandole path across the 3 pm western horizon Devoid of its by chance romance rendezvous Of lovers who wait to hide In the aftermath of a neap tide That rides on its own Well into the dark of night When the only light is from far away stars Still She waits for the white moon The full moon Caring not one thing about love In the afternoon

I've always thought of the moon as a female, desperately in love with the sun. There are times when she yearns to cross his path in morning light, so she lingers a while longer to catch a glimpse him.
