Notes About The Poem

WRITING SONNETS FOR YOUR FRIENDS AND SOUL MATES ... my latest new book now out of Amazon and Barnes and Noble and other book vendors. Just search Vee Bdosa. This is as casual, easy to follow guide that explains how I write my own sonnets and other poetry.

Oblivion 3

OBLIVION
Your head is dead a chamber vast and void
and nothing's what you think on anymore
forgotten are all things you once enjoyed
and are replaced by life; the constant bore

your brain's been drained you sit alone and stare
all hope's run out, your heart is solid stone
from night to day and day to night it's there
the wish to be forgotten and alone.

You think and sink into oblivion
not caring if you fade into the sky,
once innocent, your life's become your sin
and no one knows where you have gone to die.

Hallucinating for one friend who'll stay,
You see a face, then watch it fade away.

This poem merits being read more than once. Each time you read it you find a new layer to pull back and explore. There's nothing superficial about this poem. Very well written.
