Oblivion

When truth becomes a dying star and lies shine brightly as the sun That means we have lost the way as webs of deceit are spun Some remain in oblivion and continue to cling to the lie Others embrace the truth Using its armor to fortify The light of truth continues to dim As the truth many flout But what will we do When the light of truth goes out?

We will have nothing to guide us in our way and we will all be lost in this vast universe. Thanks for sharing your truth with us and dropping by my page. Sara K

Even though darkness and deceit have the front seat, truth will always be at the wheel. God is in control. Your thoughts caress softly around me and my heart. My best to you, Joseph. Hugs, Brandy

a thought provoking and profound poem, Joseph. I agree with Sotto...in today's world folks are oblivious, accepting falsehoods as truths. I especially liked "when truth becomes a dying star" Its ominous but true. Am faving for the profundity of your words.

Very profound thinking done with some nice metaphors, Joseph. This is a very interesting look at oblivion. Right now half my country is asleep. I guess ignorance is bliss and oblivion sits right next to ignorance.

Joseph, your poem is beautifully crafted. It is unfortunate that in today's world, falsehoods are more widely accepted while the truth is obscured or, worse, met with disdain. A fave for its deepness

Good question and such a profound write. Today we seem to see this alot, lies seem to sell better and truth remains a mystery, or rather frowned upon. And i love that opening line “ when truth becomes a dying star” soul hitting! I love this! A fave for me it is. Best wishes for the contest
