Obedience
Here am I striving to obey* the Spirit’s guidance
Despite my frailty upon righteous stance
While subduing carnality’s endurance…
Help me, my God, as I depend on Your mighty performance.
Here am I persevering to follow Bible’s instruction
Denouncing every foolishness and perversion
As I abide in God along His wise prescription…
Help me, my God in standing upon heavenly conviction.
Here am I trying to please my Master by faith’s steadfastness
Smiting guilt of iniquities with its destructiveness
I need to Him first and His righteousness…
Help me, my God, prevail against wickedness.
Here am I praying for the rescue of the lost from hell’s fury
Clinging to God along His truth’s sure victory
Subduing the Devil against transgression-sown misery…
Help me, my God, abound in Your service-territory.
*Deuteronomy 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
