Oath Breaker
With one hand laid upon the Holy book
The new Judge raises her other hand high.
She swears an oath that millions before her promised:
Faithful service, unbiased justice, no compromise.
I, Hannah Duggan, do solemnly swear
That I will administer justice without respect
To persons, and ensure equal rights to the poor,
And to the rich, and that I will faithfully and
Impartially discharge all the duties incumbent upon me
As a United States Judge under the Constitution
And laws of the United States of America. So help me God!
But the regrettable record is chillingly clear, time after time.
Bias rules the judgements, and at the end of the day
All the promises made to be true and faithful laid aside,
In fits of uncontrollable and irresponsible rage are swept away.
The holy oath abandoned, she is no longer honor bound.
Her judgement slips and unfortunate mistakes are made.
She is no longer fair, no longer just, no longer fit to serve.
With trust now broken and her oath forsaken, righteous Justice fades.
Oath Breakers weave an immoral and deceptive evil web.
They promise to be true to their solemn oath but indubitably fail.
From the beginning the intent was never chaste and ultimately marred.
Now is the Judge weighed in Lady Justice's scales, and she who goes to jail.
