This felt like free-verse to me (and a very good one at that!). The image of a thought being unexpected like a rose blooming in the desert is wonderful. The word "silent" is key... both are beautiful things, but don't make themselves known by shouting... cool poem!

Thank you for commenting. As a matter of facts this initially was not an HaiKu being the syllabic number wrong. Yesterday I modified it to fit the rule 5-7-5, but I am still doubtful about Haiku and syllable counting. Isn't there some rule about contents and about accents? We use HaiKu without knowing it as Japanese do!
