Oh mighty friend Tall and strong I listen to your silent song And wonder how Such truth can be Embodied here So gently. And as we stand and share this ground, The wonder of you all around, A prayer within me starts to rise. A sapling reaching for the skies. Deep within I know it's true To strive and grow; Be more like you. My heart cries out, I need to spend More time beside you, Patient friend. I meditate on Holy wood; On strength and purpose, On soil that's good. And how the earth unfolds your truth. Your roots so deep, oh leafy roof. I'd stay but time alas is pressing So much to learn Of peace and hope.. Of soul de-stressing. Shall we meet again? Same time, same place? I want to see your gnarly face.. And let you teach me how to be As strong and silent as a tree.

Nicely written. Trees truly are a symbol of resilience.
