O Happiness
I wish to embrace you,
Still you keep me a distance apart.
O Happiness, let glory be with you,
Relent you did one day
And walked me past
Whispering in my ears:
For your quest to end
You’d need the sun
To shine in your heart
Until it did stir your soul
And let this experience
Be shared with all.
Inwardly awakened,
The compassion flowed by
And love gathered storm
Taking me in its fold.
Rain fell wildly all over me
And I bathed in fulfillment,
Dancing with joy
As I saw you glide in
And settle down
To live with me for long.
Divine gift, you are,
Unstoppable in your flight
To reach us all
In wait for you
With open hearts.
Generous as you are,
You return us back
More of you
Than what we could
Ever give away.
