Numb

Let me be numb Totally and utterly I have grown tired of This guest called misery I know not the cause Of this dreadful sorrow The same I’ve said for joy This I know Those words I spoke I take them back It is easy to disparage pain When it is what you lack I long to bottle this heartache And toss it into the sea And if I cannot know the joy That once smiled upon me Then let me be numb Totally and utterly
