Nuances of the Heart
no stranger to the subtleties of love
not unwise to all combinations
and permutations of the game
yet a stranger ignorant unfledged
to the undulations and meanderings
of a heart that’s broken and impossible to heal
of a heart that’s shattered and barely held together
whose tenderness is the only currency of value
with frailties of life and death hanging in the balance
