Nowhere To Hide

Why is it when I see you coming?
All I want to do is take off running

Is it fear that makes me want to flee
Or something else deep inside of me

When our paths cross I close my eyes
I can’t look at the face I despise

Your voice pierces me deep into my soul
Wondering around like an evil little troll

Total destruction you leave in your wake
But there is no more to give; there is no more to take

Stuffed full of pride, I think you would burst
Too arrogant to see but that’s not the worst

Hate has filled this withered heart of yours
Not for others mind you but for yours it pours

Afflicting pain to others to even the score
You hurt me but I can hurt you more

Words are your weapon you like to boast
Carefully placing them where they would hurt the most

Saddest thing about you is the hurt you carry inside
You started running but found nowhere to hide

So instead of running I will stay where I stand
To show you love you never could understand
