Nowhere to go

From murky depths
the fish leaping high
above the ground
dirty water it could not bear
sought escape in open air.

But nowhere else it could go.

Back to the pond
it jumped down;
up again,
then down once more;
a cycle it couldn't ignore.

Nice poem. It's funny to think of a human who might dive into the ocean out of desperation, but for a fish, it's the reverse.

Sounds like a real fishy conundrum there, Akham. What's a poor fish to do?!
