Now the Leaves Begin To Tell Their Change

Now the leaves begin to tell their change
And trees so brimmed with youth before
Lights up the world majestic in their range
Of colors, cascading joy far as the shore.
And yet in all this show
I only see a vanity of life's glory
A brief moment's glow
Of humanness and frail mortality.
Golden light glistens from the spiders web
The fly struggles but cannot leave again
Rocks become sand in tide's flow and ebb
The eagle roofs the heaven and then will stain
The eaglet's beak with blood
The pious priest hums at his mass
His fingers swimming the flood
The broken body, and the dying grass.

My friend, you've written something special here..indeed the leaves are but a symbol of change. I love the second line..the trees brimmed with youth before. Wish Id written that! lol. BG

Very very deep and meaningful thoughts upon the falling leaves in autumn, David. Nice expression, the pious priest hums...
