Author's Notes: This special love poem, "Now is Our Moment of Forever Love," is rendered in the Terzanelle poetic format and is set in Iambic Pentameter. This poem is somewhat similar to an earlier Terzanelle ("The Warmth of Our True Love") that I had written and released on July 23, 2015. "Forever Love" focuses on the essential nature of love shared between two people, and how their love is divinely inspired and blessed by God Himself in Heaven above. I present the metaphorical notion in the leading verse of the final stanza that "Love is eternal in God's cosmic view."  Setting this poem in the structural requirements for the Terzanelle made the interweaving of the various sub-themes all the more interesting with regard to how the final version of the poem turned out in the end. As with my earlier Terzanelle from 2015, the phrasing of certain aspects of the verses presented subtle comparative hints of both metonymy and metaphor. As in many of the other love poems I've written in the past, this poem is also a continuation of the theme of the "oneness of love" as it relates to the certain aura of shared love between two people in this life, and spiritually later in eternity. (Gary Bateman - April 20, 2017) (Terzanelle)

Now is Our Moment of Forever Love Now is our moment of forever love, Whilst we embrace with deepest emotion. God’s blessed our love high in Heaven above. Forever love is God’s cosmic potion; We bask as one in His heavenly light, Whilst we embrace with deepest emotion. Our passion and desire feeleth so right, As we kiss in the most tender of bliss. We bask as one in His heavenly light. Enchantment cometh from our deepest kiss, Whilst we bathe in the light by God’s desire, As we kiss in the most tender of bliss. Our passions are one by divine inspire. God’s holy blessings caress our souls true, Whilst we bathe in the light by God’s desire. Love is eternal in God’s cosmic view; God’s holy blessings caress our souls true. Now is our moment of forever love; God’s blessed our love high in Heaven above. I love writing terzanelles and villanelles. I haven't posted many on Soup, I am still learning and experimenting :) This one is beautiful Gary. And the language you used for it is so fitting.

Thanks Darren!! I'm very pleased you enjoyed this particular Terzanelle. I actually tend to default more toward metered writes personally, which I guess means that I'm a "traditionalist" regarding poetry. I still have many, many forms though that I've not yet experimented with. For me, the actual theme I choose to write about tends to drive and shape the poetic format I use to express it. In the end, it's all good which is why I enjoy poetry and prose equally. (I will be reading more of your poetry too!!) Best Wishes, Gary

Just a dazzling terzanelle poem, Gary. All of the other talented poetesses/poets gave poetic expression better than I could. Such a beautiful and godly love poem. A 7 and fave for sure. Love always.

Hello Freddie, Thanks so much for your really gracious and timely comments here on my Terzanelle. I'm glad you liked this particular poem. And thanks also for the 7/FAVE. This type of poetic form, with the right kind of theme, can result in poetry that sings to the reader. Love themes are always striking to pursue to the final product. Best Wishes Always, Gary

Gary, this is beautiful, I confess I am no expert, yet I think that in itself is a compliment when one just loves the poem. It simply sings to the heart!

Hello Arthur, Thanks so much for your genuine comment here!! If, I've accomplished what you mentioned above, then I achieved my ultimate goal -- whether the poem is "technically correct or not." I did try actually to make this Terzanelle sing to the heart. You are, as always, spot-on with your observation and analysis. I'm quite pleased that you enjoyed this write. Best Always -- And have a wondrous weekend my friend!! Cheers, Gary
