I understand now why widows and widowers let themselves wither away crossing the bridge to choose joy is a most treacherous journey AP: 1st place 2021 Posted on February 20, 2021

Sometimes it can be comforting to wallow in grief, holding on the memories that can never be grasped. Enjoyed your musings.

A touching write, Line. So much you said in just a few words --those memories hurt with every move.

Your write has 20/20 vision. (Felt the same way after a wrenching divorce back when). Keep crossing this bridge -- and the next one too. It's harder for you (than it was for me). You can look back, and should, of course. And that's far from easy. Me -- I knew I couldn't dare look back, or I would stumble badly. So I didn't. That became my M.O. very quickly.
