November In Kentucky

November in Kentucky

Outside my windows
Morning is gray again.
November kidnaps the sunrise sun
Leaving gray,
Day after day,
Weakening the spirit…
So eyes close
Casting sight to blackness
That drifts to dreaming
Radiant scenes.

Nice poem, Sally. I like poems that drift into or out of dreams.

Yep, you've certainly pictured the Kentucky I know. Here in Eastern Kentucky we've been gloomy for days and are waiting the first snowflakes (according to the weatherpeople).

Yep, it is early for snow, but our weatherpeople are predicting it this week. My friend saw a few isolated flakes driving from Greenup County to Ashland this afternoon.

Hi! The same goes for Feb.! I moved here from NJ(an hr. Drive from Manhattan) in 1982 & lived in Chicago 7 yrs where the weather CAN change every hour. I LOL when they claim that in KY! I’m in Lex. Married a Jackson KY guy. Didn’t know you were KY. Bit early for snow! Hugs, sally
