November

Natural branches sit empty among the lonely pine
Old leaves have fallen from every branch and vine
Vegetation is unable to live, unable to grow
Everyday we can feel the cold wind's blow
Many hunters go out looking for wild prey
Before the bright morning, before the end of day
Every year we have a feast of thanksgiving
Remembering why we must keep on living

i liked this; opens with some strong imagery, and it almost has a hymn-like feel to it in places, or maybe it's just me! i like the closing line, and i also enjoyed the rhyme - congrats on your win in my contest!

wonderful words are clearly spoken....to a country boy, these words are golden....bring family together before a wonderful feast....the merriest times are being released....
