Nothing Was There

because i don’t want to be fettered i roamed a borderless wilderness seeking a way to avoid interference i flew over the sky between dark clouds and thunderbolts on a violent stormy day to attain happiness i stepped on the golden sands by the shore where the raging waters roll in and out of the sea of abundance i thought i found everything i wanted for but what i found was discarded old masks scattered on the burial ground i thought i was acquainted with all knowledge needed to be a decent human being: the knowledge i acquired was empty letters written on a drifting cloud i thought i grabbed everything i saw but when i opened my hand i found nothing was there in my palm
